Nine HDP and DBP members detained in Mus
Turkish police raided homes and detained nine members of People’s Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) in Varto, a district of Mus province.
According to local sources, police raids took place in Varto centre and nearby villages on Wednesday morning. At least nine members of HDP and DBP were detained and taken to Varto Security Directorate building.
DBP’s former head of Varto branch Gulbahar Kaya, DBP official Cihan Yaldin, HDP’s Deniz Tas and former members of the city council Mehmet Ozcelik, Ziya Ozcelik, Remziye Birsin, Tefek Kucak and Yilmaz Ozcelik are among the detained.
