A curfew was declared in 10 villages in the rural areas of Amed's Lice, Silvan and Kulp districts late Friday evening on the grounds that a military operation will be launched in the region.
In Çıralı (Herag) village of Lice, neighboring the curfew zone where a military operation was started after the declaration of curfew, a person by the name of Celal Gözen lost his life as result of gunfire by the soldiers. Another person by the name of Mahfuz, whose surname was not identified, got wounded during the attack.
The locals were taken to Lice Halis Toprak Foundation State Hospital, from where they were taken to Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital with a military helicopter.
Gözen family went to the hospital this morning and gave blood sample to reclaim the body, while the wounded civilian was later referred to Dicle University Medical Faculty where he was taken under treatment.
