While the offensive by Turkish military and police forces is getting heavier every day, Nur, Cudi and Sur neighborhoods remain under intensified artillery attacks by tanks deployed on hills overlooking the district. The areas under curfew are also targeted by mortar attacks from surrounding villages since early this morning.
Latest reports from the town say that the aggression on Sur neighborhood has killed two civilians today. While mortar shells hit and exploded in houses, many civilian residences have been demolished and rendered unusable.
In the meantime, 16-year-old youth who suffered a critical injury in yesterday's attacks by state forces remains in Nur neighborhood due to an ongoing denial of ambulance access to the area.
