Led by the Kurdistan Free Society Movement (Tevgera Azadi), people of Kifri marched in Sulaymaniyah to protest the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the KDP’s closure of Sêmalka border gate.

Şemal Xurşid spoke on behalf of Tevgera Azadi and emphasized the importance of solving the Kurdish issue in North Kurdistan through democratic means. Xurşid called upon international powers to take action against the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Öcalan.

Xurşid stated that the KDP’s closure of Sêmalka border gate serves the Turkish state’s Kurdish policies, which are mostly dividing the Kurds and turning them against one another.

Lastly, a representative of the Patriotic Youth Movement spoke during the march and called upon all young people to take action against the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Öcalan and the KDP’s closure of Sêmalka border gate.
