People of Manbij spoke to ANF on the Turkish state’s attacks on North Syria. Civilians criticized Turkey’s occupation of Jarablus and described the attacks of Turkey and its gang groups in the region as ‘unacceptable.’

People of Manbij stated that Turkey desires to go back to the days of Ottoman rule in the region, but Arab, Turkmen, Circassian, Kurdish and other peoples would prevent this from happening. Citizens said that the 3 yearlong ISIS occupation of the region ended on August 15, and the Turkish state’s occupation of Jarablus aimed to deepen the civil war in Syria.

'MAIN KILLER OF THE PEOPLE'

People of Manbij noted that hundreds of thousands of people were killed and millions were forced to migrate during the 6 yearlong civil war in Syria. Civilians emphasized that the Turkish state has been supporting gang groups such as ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham, Jaysh al-Sham and Sultan Murat Brigade since the beginning of the Syrian civil war, and described Turkey as the main killer of people in Syria.

'WE WILL FIGHT, IF NECESSARY'

Citizens of Manbij reiterated that they would not allow Turkey or any other force to occupy Rojava-North Syria Federation, and would fight in order to protect the they earned after 3 years of struggle if necessary.
