PJAK: Iranian regime’s insistence on war deepens the existing crises

PJAK remarked that these operations and attacks did not offer a solution to the Kurdish question and criticized the Iranian state for acting with its old mentality in the face of the major problems suffered by the people, such as poverty and inequality.

The Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan (PJAK) released a statement about the escalating attacks by the Iranian regime in Kosalan and many other areas in East Kurdistan.

Pointing to the large-scale Iranian operations ongoing for the past eight days, PJAK stressed that the goal of the military operations and expanded attacks was to reoccupy and destroy the region.

“The Iranian regime’s insistence on war and effort to come up with a solution through war lead to great impoverishment and unemployment in addition to deepening the already existing crises,” said the PJAK statement on Sunday.

PJAK remarked that these operations and attacks did not offer a solution to the Kurdish question and the Middle East and criticized the Iranian state for acting with its old mentality in the face of the major problems suffered by the people, such as poverty, unemployment and inequality.

PJAK noted that the operations in question also caused the destruction of nature, citing the cases of deliberate forest fires and tree cutting.

Condemning the attacks that target society in every respect, PJAK said: “The existence of the guerrillas is legitimate; not for war, but for the protection of the people and their rights. We advocate for justice and democracy and will never renounce our struggle.”

PJAK underlined that the problems experienced by the Kurds and other peoples could only be overcome through humanitarian solutions. It called on all peoples and nations, communities, women, young people, environmentalists, workers, civil society organizations and tradespeople to take a clear stand against the attacks that destroy humans and the environment, adding: “Great changes happen with peoples’ great struggles.”
