At a time when the Turkish state has increased its intense scouting and attack flights on Medya Defense Zones, the PKK has celebrated its 40th anniversary with a grandiose ceremony attended by PKK Executive Committee Member Duran Kalkan, PAJK Coordination Member Jiyan Lawa and hundreds of guerrillas.

Duran Kalkan, Ruken Garzan, Bozan Tekin, PKK Central Committee Member Cemal Şerik, other Central Committee members and hundreds of guerrillas participated in the 40th year celebration events kicked off in the Medya Defense Zones. Great morale and enthusiasm marked the activities which started with a military ceremony. Duran Kalkan and Jiyan Lawa gave speeches in the event.

KALKAN: MOBILIZATION IN EVERY AREA

Kalkan spoke to the guerrillas and started with celebrating the 40th anniversary of the PKK for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, all guerrillas and the whole of humanity.

Kalkan offered his respect and gratitude to Haki Karer, Berçem Cilo and 40 thousand martyrs of freedom and continued:

“We promise to successfully carry out the 40th year struggle for the party in the line of the Leader and the martyrs, and fight in the line of victory.

We are entering the 40th year of the PKK having held our most recent central committee meeting and having planned ourselves again as a party, people and movement, with resolve and organization. Our path is open, our duties clear. We declare early on that the struggle in the 40th year will be a year of more battle and more victory than before. What we did in 39 years mirrors what we will be doing in the 40th year as the PKK and the people. Thus, as decided in our central committee meeting, we declare to further the party in its 40th year in the line of Apo, to organize and work in every area at the level of mobilization and to increase the struggle in the line of victory.

On this basis, we will most certainly put forth the struggle that will liberate Kurdistan and Leader Apo and will implement the democratic revolution in the Middle East through developing the party, the guerrilla and the democratic nation as all party militants, sympathizers and the people at the level of mobilization in this 40th year. We will create a struggle equal to the past 39 years in this 40th year. PKK becomes the name for such expression, will and march. Our party PKK, which translates Leader Apo’s thoughts into an organization and actions, has become the name of the development that brings back the dead, gives life to the parched and revives the spirit for everyone and everything.

“ALL PEOPLES SHOULD BELIEVE IN THE PKK”

PKK expresses becoming the great spirit, feeling and idea of freedom. Leader Apo called the PKK a novel, a song and a poem that hasn’t been completed yet. He expressed the PKK as the living truth of the martyrs. We will be pulling this truth further into the open in the 40th year. We will embody this truth further. We will create further the struggle this necessitates in the 40th year. Anybody can say whatever they want, any of our enemies can make whatever plans they want, the revolutionary-democratic forces, the women and the youth should believe in the PKK.

All should believe that Leader Apo’s philosophy and ideological-political line is right. All should look at what has been created in 39 years, and join the PKK more in this 40th. All should turn more towards organizing the reality and the line of Leader Apo, and to increase the struggle for freedom and democracy further on this basis. Then Kurdistan and the Middle East will be more enlightened, the world will go further into being more free and liveable.

Our whole claim is this. We are entering the 40th year of the party with a resolve on this basis. With this resolve, we state that we will continue our 40 year-long march to freedom, we will successfully carry out all our duties in the line of the Leader and the martyrs and make the 40th year of the party the greatest year for the struggle and for victory. We are calling on everybody to recreate themselves and join the struggle for freedom and democracy on this basis. Also on this basis, we promise that we will turn this 40th year of the party into the year of greatest victory and success.”
