The demo led by DBP, HDP, HDK, DTK and KJA started in front of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality where thousands have started to gather as of early morning hours. HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ, DBP co-chair Kamuran Yüksek, HDK spokesperson Ertuğrul Kürkçü, DTK co-chair Selma Irmak, KJA spokesperson Ayla Akat Ata and HDP deputies also took their place in the march.
Upon an obstruction by police on the way to Şeyh Sait Square, demonstrators started to head towards Galeria area for a press statement.
Police teams here staged a crackdown on the mass without any warning in an attempt to hinder a persistently denied gathering in protest at the government and state.
Nearly 20 people have been reported detained during the police intervention.
