Thousands have gathered in the main Kurdish city Amed today to join a march to the central Sur district in solidarity with the enduring resistance against a heavy military aggression by state forces for the 47th uninterrupted day.

The march led by DBP (Party of Democratic Regions), HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party), DTK (Democratic Society Congress) and KJA (Free Women's Congress) was set to start from the AZC Plaza on Ofis Street of Yenişehir district.

While more people gathered at the scene before the beginning of the march, police forces laid a siege around the area with many water cannons and armored vehicles, upon which people started sit-in before an anti-riot vehicle.

As the traditional crackdown by police came soon later, the crowd was attacked with water cannons and tear gas, which affected a number of demonstrators.
