Two youths have been murdered by special operation teams during the operation in Yüksekova district of Hakkari.

As special operation teams started an operation against Cumhuriyet neighborhood at 09:30 local time this morning, residents have gathered outside Mala Gel (People's House) and started to carry out resistance.

YOUTHS WERE DELIBERATELY KILLED

While police units in armored vehicles are opening random fire towards the neighborhood, special operation teams are firing teargas and hand grenades in the area of barricades.

20-year-old Doğan Doğma and 18-year-old Çetin Dara were both targeted by police bullets and shot dead, one in the chest and the other in the heart.

The youths whose bodies were covered in blankets were taken to Yüksekova State Hospital where both have lost their lives. Their bodies are now being held in the hospital morgue.

After murdering the two civiliains, security forces blockaded the hospital with dozens of armored vehicles.

People have in the meantime started to hold vigil in Cumhuriyet neighborhood, the scene of killings, and carry out self-defense which is now spreading across the district.
