Police violence against child aged 8 in Bismil

It has been disclosed that Turkish police used violence against an 8-year-old child in the Bismil, in the province of Amed.

After an 8-year-old child was exposed to police violence in Nusaybin district of Mardin, last week, it was disclosed that similar police violence was seen in Bismil, province of Amed.

According to the information received, the police violence targeted children in Şentepe borough, in TOKİ houses, where some policemen live.

On 9 May, when lockdown was in place, children aged between 7 and 9 who were playing in front of their houses tried to escape when they saw the police. The police chased the children and grabbed a little child aged 8, named as E.M. One of the policemen slapped him.

The child went back home crying in fear but his family refrained from taking any action as there was no video taken this time. No action was taken on the ground that there were no complaints.
