One of the attackers who shot up the Kurdistan Regional Parliament, threatened to kill the MPs and battered journalists last night has posted a selfie of himself with Barzani’s advisor Hemîn Hewrami on social media.
An attacker among the group that attacked journalists and MPs in yesterday’s session discussing the dissolution of the Kurdistan Regional Presidential System in the Kurdistan Regional Parliament has posted a selfie of himself on social media with KDP Leader Masoud Barzani’s advisor Hemîn Hewramî taken in front of the parliament building during the attacks.
Among the attackers, Ari Fares posted on Facebook a selfie he took in front of the parliament with Hewrami.
Arî Fares was wearing the peshmerga uniform in the photo, which he posted with the caption: “Me and my brother Hemîn Hewramî have decided, we will shame everyone whose name is Rabûn.”
The man shared another post that said: “Now we are waiting in Hewlêr in front of the parliament. We are waiting for the dishonorable parliamentarian Rabûn Maruf to come out. If we get our hands on him...”
It can be understood from attacker Arî Fares’ posts and photographs on Facebook that he is a KDP peshmerga.
The attack on the Kurdistan Regional Parliament last night has revived the bitter history of “birakuji” (“fight among brothers”) in Southern Kurdistan and citizens have launched “No Birakuji” campaigns on social media.
