PUK official: Turkey’s military operations in Kurdistan must be stopped immediately

PUK Foreign Relations Officer Şanaz İbrahim Ehmed called for an immediate end to the Turkish operations within the borders of the Federal Kurdistan Region.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's (PUK) Head of Foreign Relations, Şanaz İbrahim Ehmed, called for an urgent end to the military operations that Turkey has been carrying out on the territory of Federal Kurdistan since April.

Expressing her views on the social media, Şanaz said it is a great shame that the attacks were not carried out only by Turkey because local forces provide support for every attack carried out in the region.

“Every attack and violation against our lands and people in breach of the rules of law and international law is related to the fact that the Kurdistan Regional Government and political parties in Baghdad are becoming increasingly vulnerable to attacks every passing day. This is what silence always brings about. The regional authorities' inaction and silence should not prevent the cries from being heard.”

Addressing the authorities in the Federal Kurdistan region, Şanaz called for implementation of policies that safeguard citizens' interests, stressing the attacks on Turkey should be stopped as quickly as possible. She added that the people of Turkey should also stand against these attacks.
