PYD (Democratic Union Party) co-chair Saleh Moslem stated that the Syrian meeting to be held in Saudi Arabia capital Riyadh doesn't represent the will of Syrian peoples, so cannot possibly produce a solution to the crisis.
The meeting to take place in Riyadh on 8-10 December has been organised to “come up with a solution to the Syrian question and assemble the opposition on a common ground”.
As many as 100 Syrian 'opposition' groups and individuals have been invited to the meeting which will be participated by a number of AKP-backed gang groups such as Ahrar Al-Sham and Jaish al-Fatah. None from the Rojava Democratic Autonomous Administration, PYD or YPG/YPJ has been officially invited to the meeting yet.
Speaking to ANHA about the meeting, PYD co-chair Saleh Moslem said representatives of the peoples in Syria haven't received no invitation yet, remarking that the meeting as it is will therefore not serve the peoples of Syria.
PYD co-chair emphasised that; "The meeting is being organised in accordance with the demand of some regional and international forces. It doesn't pay regard to the current political and military reality in Syria and the region as the most active and dynamic actors and representatives of the actual Syrian opposition haven't been invited. In the circumstances, such meetings will have no seriousness."
Moslem noted that no invitation or call has been submitted yet to Rojava Democratic Autonomous Administration, nor to PYD and other Rojava parties under TEV-DEM or YPG/YPJ forces.
Stressing that the Riyadh meeting will also remain inconclusive just like the previous Geneva and similar meetings, Moslem said “Such a meeting will not serve the peoples of Syria because of the very clear reason that it offers no concrete project or political path for a solution to the Syrian crisis. Nor does the meeting determine anything regarding the rights of the Kurdish people who are giving the most effective fight against gang groups at the cost of a heavy price.”
Moslem called upon all regional and international forces to fulfill their responsibilities not for show but concretely in order for the ending of the war and bloodshed in Syria. Moslem urged a method and approach to ensure the participation and representation of all peoples in Syria for the resolution of the crisis.
