Shengal Autonomous Administration stopped the functioning of government-affiliated institutions in the region on 12 December as a reaction to the central government, which remained inactive and say nothing against the Turkish state's attacks.
The Turkish state targeted and murdered Shengal Autonomous Administration Council Co-chair Merwan Bedel on 7 December, and bombed the Xanesor People's Assembly on 11 December.
The Shengal Autonomous Administration said that the presence of the central government in the region was meaningless given that it did not close its airspace to the Turkish state and did not protect Shengal.
The Autonomous Administration took a new decision on the evening of 12 December and announced that all government institutions and international organizations in Shengal would resume their work.
