Shop keepers on strike in East Kurdistan
The shopkeepers, reacting to the closure of border gates and increased tax and customs fees, have been on strike since the weekend, in East Kurdistan (Iranian Kurdistan).

After the cities of Bane and Ciwanro, the merchants of Mariwan city in Sine province also decided to join the boycott.
In the other cities tradesmen and kasıbkar (the person carrying goods over the border) were invited to join the strike. It is expected that the protest actions will spread to other cities.
Bane and Ciwanro shopkeepers walked to the governor's buildings after the strike on April 15th.
People protested against the worsening living conditions in Iran. This strike has been going on for days.
