Six guerrillas martyred in Avashin

Six guerrilla fighters were martyred in Avashin. The HPG published their names and offered their condolences to their families and to the Arab and Kurdish people.

The press center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) has announced the names of six fallen guerrilla fighters. "The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla is making the Avashin region the grave of the occupying army of the Turkish colonial state and is mounting a legendary resistance that will go down in history. The Turkish army finds itself in a hopeless situation in the face of guerrilla tactics and uses methods that violate human ethics and are against the law of war. Nevertheless, it cannot stop the actions of the hawks of Zagros. Some time ago, our connection with a group of our companions who support the resistance in the war tunnels in Mamreşo from the outside with actions in the field and deal hard blows to the occupiers was severed. The fact that our brave companions were martyred in the May 11 bombings has since been confirmed," the HPG said.

Adil Çekdar was born in Serdeşt in East Kurdistan and came from a family that was connected to the liberation movement. "Love for one's country and resistance are a traditional way of life in East Kurdistan, which is preserved until today. From the social structure in which resistance and a revolutionary life are considered principles, leading commanders of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement have emerged, who have taken on strategic missions in the most critical times of the history of the struggle and have occupied a central place in our struggle. Our companion Adil grew up with this culture and dreamed of a revolutionary life as a child. At the first opportunity, he joined the guerrillas and most recently made great efforts to participate in the defense of Avashin,” wrote the HPG.

Agir Arnos was born into a patriotic family in Hakkari and grew up in the resistance culture for which this province in northern Kurdistan is known. In his school years he was constantly on the lookout, and as a student he became active in the Kurdish liberation movement. He joined the guerrillas in 2015 in the Zagros Mountains because he saw the struggle as the only way to a free and dignified life.

Bahoz Rojhat Rojîn was born in Urfa, and his family was also attached to patriotic values. He grew up in the tradition of not bowing to oppressors. "This consciousness anchored in his personality led him to search for the truth and tore down all the walls of fear," HPG said. Bahoz went to the mountains and, as a "trained sniper, became the nightmare of the occupiers. He participated in the resistance knowing that every bullet fired struck at the heart of a reactionary and barbaric mentality thousands of years old."

Canpolat Muslum was born in Mosul to Arab parents and fought against ISIS at a very young age because he would not accept the Islamist massacres in silence. "The Turkish state policy to set the peoples against each other did not leave an impression on him, he believed from the bottom of his heart in the brotherhood of the Arab and Kurdish people," HPG said of the fallen internationalist who joined the guerrilla and fought against the Turkish occupation.
