Some civilians in Nusaybin evacuated, massacre threat continues

Nusaybin Co-Mayor Sara Kaya announced that 42 civilians were evacuated from Nusaybin, but the massacre threat of state forces continue in the district.

YPS had announced that it withdrew its forces ‘in order to shift positions,’ and warned the public about the possible massacre of civilians trapped in Alika (Yenişehir) neighborhood.

After the YPS statement, Nusaybin Co-Mayor Sara Kaya and HDP parliamentarian Ali Atalan had emphasized the presence of thousands of civilians in the district and called for sensibility.

'THEY ARE ALL CIVILIANS'

Kaya and Atalan contacted state officials and announced that 42 civilians were finally evacuated. Co-Mayor Kaya objected to the reports of Turkish mainstream media outlets suggesting that terrorists surrendered in Nusaybin, and said that all of the evacuated people were civilians that had nothing to do with an armed movement.

Lastly, Kaya emphasized the state forces’ massacre threat against thousands of civilians still trapped in the district, and called for the continuation of sensibility on this issue.
