Diyarbakır Bar Association Head Tahir Elçi has been killed by police in Sur district of Amed. 

Speaking to ANF, Elçi's lawyer Yunus Murat Akan has confirmed that Elçi has been shot dead by police. According to Akan, Elçi was shot by a police bullet in the head.

Elçi's body has been take to Selahattin Eyyubi State Hospital.
