Teachers’ protest actions continue against the budget crisis in South Kurdistan where many settlements have witnessed mass demonstrations today. Teachers took to the streets in Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Kelar, Kifrî, Rızgari, Derbendixan, Şarezur, Seyit Sadık, Pencewin and Hewraman cities.
“We have not taken our decision to start the protests raising our demand in conformity with the Ministry of Education or the Directorate of Education. Our protests and boycotts will therefore continue until we receive an official response to our demands”, said a teacher, Berzan Hamid, who joins the protests in Şarezur.
Hamid said teachers continued the boycott protests, adding; “We have expressed our demands once again here as the government remains indifferent to the demands of public workers and teachers”.
