Tevgera Azadî's Kerküki: A stance against the threat of Erdoğan needed

Kurdistan Free Society Movement Executive Council Member Kerküki mentioned the Mosul operation and said that Turkey is a threat against the peoples of the region and a stance against that is needed.

Kurdistan Free Society Movement (Tevgera Azadî) Executive Council Member Huseyin Kerküki spoke to ANF regarding Turkey's position and desire to participate in the Mosul offensive.

Kerküki stated that the control of Mosul was very important for Kurds and said the following: “We see that the whole world is trying to take part in this operation. The Kurdish forces needed to fight under a joint command in the war of Mosul. Only the Kurdish freedom forces have broken through the ISIS barbarism.”

“TURKEY IS A THREAT AGAINST THE PEOPLES OF THE REGION”

“Turkey taking part in the Mosul operation is a great threat against the peoples of the region, the Kurds foremost,” said Kerküki and continued:

“Turkey’s goal is to usurp the gains Kurds have achieved in the four parts of Kurdistan. The Turkish state doesn’t like that the Kurdish fighters have gained a certain level of prestige in the international arena, and they don’t want Kurds to take part in the Mosul operation as a united group.

Turkey’s cooperation with ISIS has been documented many times, and this cooperation continues now. This is why all groups against ISIS, first of all Kurds, should stop Turkey from joining the Mosul operation. Kurdish, Arabic, Êzidî and Shabak people live in Mosul. Turkey taking part in the operation will be dangerous for these peoples.”

“ERDOĞAN DREAMS OF INVASION”

Kurdistan Free Society Movement Executive Council Member Hıseyin Kerküki underlined Erdoğan’s dreams of re-expanding borders and concluded with: “Erdoğan is aiming for a new Ottoman state. He wants to add Mosul to the new Ottoman territory. This has been AKP’s goal since they took power in 2002. They want to include all four parts of Kurdistan into the Misak-ı Milli (The National Pact) borders. This is why we need to understand Erdoğan’s message really well. The Kurdish people need to see this fact and take a stance against this.”
