After the opening of the Southern Kurdish airports for international flights, Turkey announced that it would only allow flights to Hewlêr (Erbil), but not Silêmanî (Sulaymaniyah).
Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) MP Qadir Rezgeyî said: "The Turkish state now wants to spread its power not only over Hewlêr but also over Silêmanî and force it to give up. It wants to build further military bases just as in Hewlêr. In other words, the friendship between the Democratic Party of Kurdistan PDK and Turkey is becoming increasingly clear.
The targets of the attacks by Turkey are the civilian population, the Kurdish political strength and the development of the Kurds. There is no legal basis for Turkey to cross the border. This is a violation of international law. The non-intervention of the United Nations (UN) is a shame and must be condemned."
PUK MP Qadir Rezgeyî continued: "Turkey's goals are clear. It wants to settle in both Rojava and Southern Kurdistan. In addition, Shengal is a geostrategically important area and Turkey is trying to bring Shengal under its own control, build military rule and expand its intelligence services. In this way, the political spirit of the Kurds is intended to be broken and a subordinate mentality is intended to be built up in Southern Kurdistan."
Qadir Rezgeyî concluded with concrete proposals: "An extraordinary parliamentary assembly must be held to develop a constitution on the one hand and appoint delegates as diplomats to negotiate with other states, on the other hand."
Niştîman Îbrahîm, chairperson of the Kashan organization for Zarathustra philosophy, declares the Turkish state guilty of mass murder in Afrin. "There is no question that it will be Southern Kurdistan's turn. There are far-reaching agreements behind this and it is frightening that the big states of this world are silent."
Commenting on Southern Kurdistan's policy, Niştîman Îbrahîm said: "Instead of going into the election campaign now, they should rather consider how we can protect Southern Kurdistan against the attacks of Turkey. Unfortunately, the government of Southern Kurdistan and other Kurdish entities still have no position."
Dr. Şiwan Ebdullah is a lecturer at the University of Silêmanî. He also commented to Rojnews on the situation in Southern Kurdistan: "The reason for the successive crises is the lack of plans and programs by the political parties. Comprehensive plans are forged against the continued existence of Southern Kurdistan."
"The plan of invaders includes the attack and the occupation of Afrin. Thereupon further blows will turn against Shengal, in order to get on this way also to the region of Southern Kurdistan as a whole. Another topic is the food supply and the salary of the population. A government has been formed, consisting of five parties, all under the influence of the occupiers. One is servant of the megalomaniac Turkey, the other is the servant of the regime of execution. The KRG is like an office executing the orders of the occupiers. "
Dr. Şiwan Ebdullah ended as follows: "In Duhok, Hewlêr and many regions of Kurdistan, the population has already awakened and the protests continue to spread. However, they are attacked by the rulers. It's all very similar to Hitler's time when his followers were attacking the people, for fear of falling down."
