While popular resistance in the areas of self-rule endures on the 35th day of an onslaught in Şırnak's Cizre district, state forces have started to conduct mortar attacks on all neighborhoods Sunday afternoon.

A mortar shell hit a house near Şeyh Seyda Mosque in Kale neighborhood - one of the main areas targeted by Turkish military and police forces-, leaving three people inside heavily wounded, who include one child.

While residents have managed to rush the wounded to hospital with an ambulance of Cizre Municipality, police opened fire on people who gathered in the area to protest the attack.

Many people have reportedly been detained and taken to Cizre police directorate.
