People's Defense Forces Media Center HPG-BIM reported that Turkish army started an operation in the rural areas of Amed's Kulp district on August 8. In the evening of August 9, guerrillas hit a disguised unit of the Turkish military in an area between Zeynê and Temira villages, which left three soldiers dead and five others wounded. Turkish Cobra helicopters shelled the area at random and caused a fire. The operation continues.

HPG continued, reporting another Turkish military operation launched in Munzur Valley in Dersim on August 9.

During the operation that is supported by UAVs, troops at Turnuva outpost bombed the operation area with mortars all day long before Turkish jets bombarded the Munzur Valley at 20:30 in the evening.
