Three trustees appointed to the municipality of Amed's Ergani district

The AKP government has appointed three trustees to the municipality of Amed's Ergani district.

AKP government has appointed trustees in the place of DBP's jailed co-mayor Aygün Taşkın and municipal council members Hasip Demirtekin and Sabiha Alçiçek in Amed's Ergani district.

The related statement by Diyarbakır Governorate is grounded on the delegated legislations enacted by the AKP government to replace DBP's jailed co-mayor Aygün Taşkın, who was removed from office on alleged grounds of “aiding and abetting a terror organisation”, and two members of the municipal council in line with an instruction from the Ministry of the Interior.

Accordingly, co-mayor Aygün Taşın has been replaced by Ramazan Hekimoğlu, while Hasip Demirtekin and Sabiha Alçiçek were replaced by Mehmet Ali İpek and Mustafa Yalçın.

While it grabs attention that the woman co-mayor and municipal council member are replaced by male trustees, there is no information yet available as to who the trustees are.
