Turkish army burns 50 hectares of forest in Amed

Turkish soldiers burned 50 hectares of forest between the districts of Kulp, Lice and Silvan in Amed.

After the Diyarbakır Governorate’s announcement of a curfew on August 8, Turkish soldiers burned 50 hectares of forest between the districts of Kulp, Lice and Silvan in Amed. The villages of Temira, Bira Zeynê, Beşirtê, Metmurê, Derıkê, Bayir, Bamitnê, Reşanê, Dehla Gurê Mala Çalê, Mala Gir, Hındês, Cumatê, Şêlima Godernê, Sehtê and Beytülbeyan were affected from the fire, and the soldiers from Bayır military post prevent villagers from intervening in the fire.

Units from the Diyarbakır City Forestry Directorate arrived at the area to put out the fire but withdrew after soldiers shelled the region near the unit.
