The Turkish army started an operation in Gire Çolya and Hasena areas of Mount Cudi in the countryside of Şırnak province, Northern Kurdistan Tuesday morning. The operation was expanded to a larger area in the evening.

On the other hand, reports suggest that counter-guerrilla units in guerrilla uniforms are operating and persecuting the local people in villages in Silopi district of Şırnak province.
