Airstrikes and clashes continue unabated in Gare, South Kurdistan where the Turkish army launched a massive invasion operation last night.
The Turkish army launched a full-scale invasion operation on Gare region at three o'clock last night. The region in South Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) is not in the border area with Turkey, but further inland. The invading forces have come from the south. Ground troops have been deployed after massive air strikes.
The cross-border operation is believed to be a result of Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar's visit to Hewlêr (Erbil) on Jan. 19. Akar met his German counterpart Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer in Berlin a week later.
Meanwhile, fighting in the Siyanê area continues. The aerial movements of a helicopter could be filmed by ANF.
