Turkish police detain 15 Kurdish youths in Van

Turkish police raided homes of HDP and DBP Youth Council members and detained 15 in Van.

Turkish police raided 20 homes on Thursday morning in İpekyolu and Edremit districts of Van province. 15 members of HDP and DBP Youth Councils were detained.

All 15 were taken to General Security Directorate in Van city centre.

There is no statement from public prosecutor’s office about the police operation.

Turkish police recently launched a crackdown against activists who use social media and university students. More than 200 were detained last week in Antalya, Izmir, Diyarbakir, Istanbul and Ankara.
