Special operations police raided the municipalities of Baykan and Veysel Karani in Siirt province Friday morning.

While both municipalities remain under police blockade, employees are not allowed to enter the municipality buildings where a search is being conducted.

Police forces also raided the houses of Baykan Co-mayors Selva Erdoğan and Ali Aydın. While Erdoğan was taken into custody, Aydın was not found home.

A total of 59 Co-mayors have been arrested as a result of the crackdown on DBP-held municipalities so far.
