In Karpuzlu (Herti) village in Amed's Lice district, the village imam Hilmi Ekmen and villager İlhami İpek were shot by village guards as they headed to the water tank across the village after a water cut in Karpuzlu late yesterday evening.
The attack by village guards near the Üçdamlar (Kêncer) village left the imam and villager wounded with bullets. Locals rushed the two to Lice State Hospital for treatment.
While İlhami İpek faced a life-threatening situation and was referred to Dicle University Medical Faculty, Hilmi Ekmen was later taken to Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital for treatment.
