Uca: More massacres ahead if Kurds don’t support each other

They are trying to redesign the Middle East after the Sykes-Picot and the Lausanne Treaty. Power and political groups have united against the Kurdish people. Two examples of this new alliance are Kirkuk and Afrin. But we could also mention Shengal today”.

HDP Diyarbakir MP Feleknas Uca, who is part of the HDP delegation currently visiting Bashûr (South) Kurdistan, underlined the importance of the national congress in these difficult times. "If Kurds do not support each other, we will live more massacre", Uca said.

The MP was talking about the plans and military attacks carried out by Kurdistan occupying states against the Kurdish people: “They are trying to redesign the Middle East after the Sykes-Picot and the Lausanne Treaty. Power and political groups have united against the Kurdish people. Two examples of this new alliance are Kirkuk and Afrin. But we could also mention Shengal today”.

Uca pointed out the need for a strong answer on the side of the Kurds: “I say that, despite all the shortcomings, we should convene the national congress".

The MP added: "Kurds and Kurdistan parties should respond to this attack. Indeed, one of the aim of our delegation these days here in South Kurdistan is to explore the possibility of beginning preparations for the National Congress."

Adding some details on the visits the delegation has so far carried out, Uca said: "Political parties welcomed us warmly. We found a common will and desire for the national congress to be realized. Political problems may exist between parties. But what is important is to be able to talk these through and unite around national issues. The Kurdish issue is not only an issue of interest to parties and organizations. Everyone should be involved in this fight".

The HDP is leading a wider delegation made up of civil society organizations and groups.
