The wave of detentions and arrests against journalists and civilian activists following the protests on December 18 in Southern Kurdistan.

Last night Asayish forces detained journalists NRT television digital media officer Suheyib Ehmed and New Generation List Press Member Xebat Newzad and Voice of the Streets member activist Karwan Kakil.

Hundreds of politicians, journalists and activists have been detained since demonstrations started on December 18 in Southern Kurdistan.

Meanwhile, large numbers of asayish members and peshmergas have been sent to the Suleymaniye province and its towns and districts.
