Forces affiliated to HPG (People's Defense Forces), YJA-Star (Free Women's Troops), YBŞ (Shengal Resistance Units) and YPJ-Shengal (Women's Defense Units) have started a major Operation to Liberate Shengal earlier this morning.

YBŞ, YPJ-Shengal and guerrilla forces have taken control of the road between Shengal and Rojava, as well as the road on Kızılkent line.

While the western side of Shengal town centre has been encircled, the forces on the southern front are advancing towards the Rambosi village of Kızılkent.

As the operation continues, YBŞ, YPJ-Shengal, guerrilla and peshmerga forces have started to move from Solak village in east Shengal to take control of the road in the region.

Kurdish and Êzîdî forces aim to encircle Shengal town centre from the eastern front as well after blocking the road between Tal Afar and Shengal.

Fighting between the forces of resistance and ISIS gangs is going on.
