HPG commander Kurtay Şahin said that all the technical capacity mobilized by the Turkish army and its secret units remained ineffective against the guerrilla. Şahin stated that the guerrilla is constantly developing new styles and tactics.
HPG Commander Kurtay Şahin said that the Turkish army did not get the desired results in the attacks on the Zagros line and did not know what to do or how to get out in some areas it occupied.
Speaking to the ANF, Kurtay Şahin, one of the HPG (The People's Defence Forces) commanders, stated that the guerrilla history is a lived history, that it is written with efforts and actions in the face of all difficulties. Reminding that the Turkish army claimed that the guerrilla was over and could not take action, Şahin said: “They occupied some areas but they know that they will not manage to keep them. They don't know what to do or how to get out here.”
Şahin said that when the Turkish army realized that they could not even hold their own soldiers here by force, they turned to using the peasants, but that the guerrilla did not allow them to develop spying activities in this area.
Guerilla cannot be defeated by technology
Guerrilla Şahin added: "The guerrilla is not an army that can be eliminated by technique. Nobody can break one's will with the technology they have. Against this technology, there is a will that the guerrilla relies on. This will has evolved from the historical revolts of the Kurds until today. We are their successors. We will uphold this tradition and will not allow the enemy to succeed. "
Secret units not functional either
Guerrilla Şahin said, “The guerrillas watch these secret units of the Turkish army and shoot them. So, they realized that they could not ward off the guerrillas with their military technology or with these troops. The authorities of the Turkish state make a statement each day saying, ‘We will remove the guerrillas very soon’, but the guerrillas introduce new styles and tactics to oppose the enemy each day.
Our people are not alone
Reminding that an aggravated isolation on the Kurdish people's leader continues, Kurtay Şahin added: “The guerrilla showed everyone that the Kurdish people are not alone and follow in the footsteps of his Leader through the war it waged, the style and tactics it developed. It is participating in the process with the claim to liberate the Guerrilla Leadership. Our goal is to respond to the attacks and lead this struggle to victory."
