A young man named Memduh Ozdemir in Sulaymaniyah went on a death fast to protest the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.
A young man named Merwan Memduh Ozdemir from Hakkari issued a press statement in Sulaymaniyah and announced he is going on a death fast demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

“WE WILL END THE ISOLATION EVEN IF IT COSTS US OUR LIVES”
Ozdemir issued the following statement:
“Six months ago, a resistance started under the lead of DTK Co-chair and Hakkari MP Leyla Guven to break the isolation imposed upon our Leader. This resistance spread to all four parts of Kurdistan and abroad. Our friends in the prisons were part of it from the start. 30 comrades in prisons launched a death fast and took the struggle to a new level. The resistance took the Turkish state to the Leader’s feet, but the isolation is not broken yet. And I am announcing that I will be joining the resistance today as I go on a death fast in Sulaimaniyah. We will end the isolation, even if it costs us our lives. We will free Reber (Leader) Apo.”
