The youth suffered a heavy injury as he was shot by snipers positioned on the military lodge in 172nd Brigade command in Karşıkaya neighborhood yesterday. Following an initial treatment at Silopi State Hospital, the boy was referred to Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital where he is still receiving treatment, reportedly remaining in life-threatening situation.
The youth's father said his son was shot by snipers while on his way to his workplace, a cotton factory, in the morning. He said police didn't allow the access of an ambulance to the scene, because of which the residents in the neighborhood rushed him to hospital amid fire opened from armored vehicles.
