East Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK, Yekîneyên Parastina Rojhilatê Kurdistan) reported in a written statement that a heavy clash erupted between YRK guerrillas and Iranian state forces in Selasî Bawecanî city in Dalaho region of Kermanshah province on October 4, 2016.

According to the statement, 12 YRK guerrillas lost their lives in the clash in which the Iranian army is suspected to have used chemicals.

YRK cited reports that these 12 guerrillas had been poisoned before the clash, which consequently caused an easier death of theirs, adding that more detailed information on the incident will be shared with the public later.

YRK ended its statement by offering condolences to the families of the martyrs and pledging to follow in their footsteps, to carry their freedom struggle to victory and to avenge them.
