A petition signed by 1,506 Kurdistan intellectuals, artists, scientists, academics, politicians and representatives of various organizations called on KDP to end tension in South Kurdistan.
Kurdistan intellectuals, artists, scientists, academics, politicians and representatives of various organizations took action following the recent attacks and provocation attempts by the KDP against the Medya Defense Areas.
The announcement of a petition launched with the slogan "Civil war brings disaster, civil peace brings freedom" organized by the Initiative for the National Union of Kurdistan, organized abroad, was announced with an online press conference.
Over 40 Kurds living in Europe, Asia and America were connected live and read a text calling especially on the KDP to end the tension in South Kurdistan. The text, which said that the tension between the PKK and KDP, which has dangerously increased in recent days, caused deep concerns among Kurds, continued with the following remarks: "We believe that it is possible for all Kurdish parties, organizations and military forces to come together around a common strategy and goal in order for the Kurds to have the right to live freely in their own countries in a process where the Middle East is being redesigned. For this reason, we demand the solution of the problems between all Kurds, Kurdish parties and forces from the country and the diaspora through dialogue, and in this sense, we invite everyone to act responsibly.”
The petition was signed for 1,506 intellectuals, artists, academics from four parts of Kurdistan living in different countries of the world. Among them are: Prof Dr. Hamit Bozaslan, Prof. Dr Kirmanc Gundi, Dr. Seevan Saeed, Prof. Dr. Golmurad Muradi, Prof. Get. Dr. Îbrahîm Seydo Aydogan, Prof. Dr. Salar Ahmed Basira, Dr. Kamiran Matîn, Şivan Perwer, Dr. Dana Said, Dr. Zeynep Binici, Hatem Minberi, Selahê Abbasî, Hêmin Seyidî, Günay Aslan, Yousef Mantk, Eslîxan Yildirim, Dr. Zerdesht Haco, Fatah Khalil Zaxoiy, Abdulkerim Bozan, Hikmet Serbilind, Hatip Dice, Dr. Yasen Khalil, Mehmûd Daoud, Kemal Bilget, Azad Nawzad Abdula, Dr. Hendren Numan, Mensur Teha, Mehemd Nori, Nejmedin Xulami, Jalanê Neqişbendî, Gunay Aslan, Ferhat Patîyev and Kinyazê Hemîd.
Yaşar Küçükaslan, the representative of the Assyrian-Syriac people, said that the PKK movement prompted a great change in the Kurdish society. Küçükaslan called on the KDP to leave this aggressive position: "We are faced with the politics of making Kurds hurting Kurds. That region is not only a region of some people, but a region belonging to all peoples."
Heci Hasan Bîsso, the European Representative of the Yazidi Democracy and Freedom Party (PADÊ), recalled the genocides faced by the Yazidi community and drew attention to the struggle of the PKK guerrillas to protect the Yazidi people. Stating that the people of South Kurdistan should take action to prevent the attacks, Heci Hasan Bîsso said: “If the KDP shed Kurdish blood and won’t listen to these calls, it will lose trust among all Kurds”.
