One village liberated, 5 others surrounded near Raqqa
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters advancing towards Raqqa as part of the Wrath of Euphrates operation have liberated 1 village and surrounded 5 others.
SDF fighters cleared the Rabia village they surrounded yesterday evening from ISIS today. The village is to the northwest of Raqqa. Search efforts continue in the village where several gang members were killed in the clashes that continued into the morning.
The Adnaniya, Bîr Hashim, Yaarub, Seggûra and Abu Sûs villages in the same region have been surrounded by the SDF.
SDF fighters have also entered the Hawi Hewa village, 4 km to the west of Raqqa. Intense clashes continue in the village. The outcome of these clashes is not clear yet.
Large amounts of ammunition and weapons have been confiscated in the clashes.
