11 Kurds detained in Zeytinburnu
Police took 11 Kurds into custody with house-raids in Zeytinburnu in the early morning hours, while the racist attacks in the district last night demolished three houses, a greengrocer and three textile shops of Kurdish citizens.
While racist attacks continue against the Kurds in Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul, authorities still remain silent about the situation and dont take any measures despite all the calls made so far. The workplaces of Kurdish citizens were attacked and demolished last night in Beþtelsiz and Çýrpýcý Neighborhoods.
On the other hand, police took 11 people into custody with the house-raids carried out at early morning hours. Detainees Fatih Akkurt, Hasan Doðan, Mehmet Sadýk Dursun, Takettin Alptekin, Medeni Akgül, Ümran Akgün, Ahmet Ecer, Ahmet Buldur, Hikmet Kurtok, Abdulkadir Artan and Þerif Dayan were taken to Istanbul Police Headquarters for allegedly being involved in the events that continue in the district for the last one week.
On the other hand, Fehim Sarý, who was taken into custody two days ago, is still held under detention.
The number of detainees, reportedly 21 at the moment, is expected to increase.
