18 gang members killed, 15 wounded in Sinjar

People's Defence Forces Press Centre (HPG-BIM) has released a statement giving information about the clashes going on between HPG forces and ISIS gangs in Sinjar for the last two days.

18 members of the ISIS gangs were killed and 15 others wounded in the last two days of intense clashes around the villages of Dugorê and Bare in Sinjar.

HPG-BIM said clashes erupted after their forces strongly responded to the ISIS gangs that attacked the village of Dugorê from three sides late Friday evening, forcing the gangs to withdraw from the region after two days of heavy clashes.

HPG-BIM stated that the gangs also launched an attack on the village of Dugorê last night, but were ambushed by guerrilla forces from two sides. According to the statement, many members of the gangs were killed and wounded in the ambush by HPG guerrillas. Bodies of many ISIS casualties remained in the area of clashes, the statement noted.

The statement added that clashes in the mentioned region continued in some areas.
