23 detained and 4 minors arrested in political operations

The AKP government continues its operations against Kurds and opposition circles in addition to the heavy aggression directly targeting civilians in Kurdish towns. 23 people have been detained in today's operations in Adana, İstanbul and Batman, while 4 minors were remanded in custody in İzmir over their social media posts.
ADANA
Police attacked the people who staged a demo in Adana's Ceyhan district yesterday evening to protest the war policies of the AKP government. Police teams fired live bullets and tear gas, in the face of which demonstrators carried out self-defence as clashes spread across Küçükkırım, Yersuat, Belediyeevleri and Altıocak neighborhoods.
During the police attack that lasted till the midnight, 8 people were battered and detained by police.
İSTANBUL
Police teams affiliated to the anti-terror branch of Istanbul police directorate raided a number of houses in the districts of Başakşehir, Büyükçekmece, Beylikdüzü and Esenyurt. 12 people have been detained in the raid operation and taken to Anti-Terror Department of Police where they will give their statements.
İZMİR
11 people were taken into custody as a result of simultaneous raids into 10 houses in Doğançay neighborhood of İzmir's Bayraklı district yesterday. 4 of these were referred to a court following the procedures at police station.
The 4 minors were remanded in custody on alleged charges of “membership to DHKP/C” in connection with their social media posts which were treated as evidence. The minors include M.A.T., who remained in coma for weeks after suffering an injury during Gezi protests in Istanbul when he was shot by a tear gas canister on the head.
Proceeding continues for the remaining 7 detainees.
BATMAN
Three people were detained as a result of a raid operation by special operation teams in Batman in the early morning hours today. The detainees include two minors who had been detained once again before on charges of “throwing stone at police”.
