The French Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-F) and the Socialist Women's Union (SKB) in Bordeaux, went on a 4-day hunger strike in solidarity with the prisoners on hunger strike in Turkey and North Kurdistan’s jails. The hunger strikers demand the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is kept in absolute isolation in Imrali, and a political solution to the Kurdish question.

The solidarity hunger strike was held at the Bordeaux Democratic Kurdish Community Center and ended with a meeting on the 90th day of the hunger strike by prisoners in Turkey.

Many Kurds and representatives from the French Communist Party and the Alevi Cultural Center attended the meeting.

In the speeches, made in Kurdish, Turkish and French, it was emphasized that the peoples would be liberated with the common struggle and solidarity of all the components of democratic modernity and the freedom of People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Women show the power of the united struggle

The representatives of the French Communist Party said that they would fight together at all times and under all circumstances, while representatives of the Alevi Cultural Center also emphasized the need and importance for a common struggle.

Activists called to continue and support the actions organized within the scope of the international campaign launched on 10 October.

The activists added that they would struggle for Abdullah Öcalan's freedom with different actions.
