People’s Defence Forces Press and Communication Centre (HPG-BIM)  announced yesterday that the guerrillas launched an operation against ISIS gangs in the village of Varga Xaliya in the Silo district of Sinjar on 12 October.

It also stated that some ISIS gang members attempted to infiltrate the village of Abdila Xanım in Kirkuk province.

These gangs were spotted and hit by the guerrillas.

Issuing a written statement, the HPG press and communication centre announced that the guerrillas launched an operation in against the ISIS gangs deployed in the village of Varga Xaliya in Sinjar on 12 October at around 21:00. It stated that the gangs attempted to ambush the operation force of the guerrillas and that the ambush was immediately spotted by the guerrillas, who killed 7 ISIS gang members in the operation. The other unit targeted 2 houses in which the ISIS gangs were deployed and hit the houses with heavy and individual weapons. However, the casualties of the ISIS gangs couldn’t be clarified. In addition, the Sinjar Resistance Units carried out an ambush operation against the ISIS gangs on 12 October at around 18:00 and a gang member was killed.

Stating that the gangs also attempted to infiltrate the village of Abdila Xanım in Kirkuk on 12 October at 18:00, the HPG Press and Communication Centre said: “our guerrillas recognised the attempts of the gangs to infiltrate early and hit this group effectively. A gang member was killed and another one was wounded.”
