Şenyaşar family receives death threats from AKP deputy's brother

The Şenyaşar family stated that Süleyman Yıldız, the brother of AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız, has threatened them with death.

The ‘Justice Vigil’ launched by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in an armed attack organized by AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, marks its 119th day. The family came to the courthouse in Urfa province in early morning hours and placed signs that read ‘Justice for all’ in front of the concrete blocks.

Ferit Şenyaşar talked about their third legal support visit in Amed on July 2. “We talked to NGOs and the head of the bar association. Everyone knows about the incident and is following our case closely. Everyone we spoke to said that there has been persecution against us. Tomorrow will mark the 120th day of our justice vigil.”

'WE STILL RECEIVE DEATH THREATS'

Şenyaşar said that the actual massacre took place in Suruç State Hospital. “There are security cameras and the statements of the doctors and my mother about the incident, but the perpetrators of the massacre are walking around freely among us. Süleyman Yıldız, the elder brother of the deputy who benefits from the policy of impunity, still threatens us with death. We have submitted our second criminal complaint against Süleyman Yıldız, who threatened us through social media.”

Şenyaşar revealed that the 8th prosecutor who will take over the case will be determined today. “This case should not be time barred; the massacre was carried out in the hospital. The 7th prosecutor who was handling our case said that he had identified 23 people. The new prosecutor who will take over the case will be determined today. The prosecutors who deal with our case do their job under a huge political pressure. We will request a meeting with the new prosecutor through our lawyers.”

CALL FOR SOLIDARITY

Şenyaşar said that “We are not afraid; we will bring justice. Every time we try to enter the courthouse, we end up either in a police station or in an emergency room of an hospital. We urge everyone to contribute to our struggle. We are determined and we are waiting for everyone to come here for solidarity”.

“A new prosecutor! It's a new hope,” the family wrote in their social media account.
