The detention of BDP PM and Constitutional Commission member Marmara University academic Prof. Büþra Ersanlý under the “KCK” operation in Istanbul have been protested against by intellectuals, writers and academicians.
700 people including former Mayor of Istanbul Ahmet Ýsvan, retired Ambassador Temel Ýskit, writer Yaþar Kemal and many other professors protested Ersanlý’s detention with a common statement which defined the detention as a strike on demands for equality, peace, social justice, academic and political freedoms in Turkey and demanded urgent release of all jailed civil politicians, academicians and journalists.
