Actions by Revolutionary Youth Movement

The Revolutionary Youth Movement (DGH) and the Revolutionary Young Women's Movement (DGKH) carried out actions in Amed and Van.

The DGH Coordination said that the Revolutionary Youth Movement (DGH) and the Revolutionary Young Women's Movement (DGKH) carried out actions against the drugs used and sold in the Fatih neighborhood of Amed in the Bağlar district. Drugs are used by the occupying Turkish state as part of its special policies against Kurdish youth.

The use of drugs being poured into specific areas in an attempt to stop conflict and reaction to repression and state’s harassment is not a new strategy for governments. It has been used in the US against the Black Panthers and afro-american movement and in Italy against the revolutionary left in the ’60s and ’70s.

In its statement the DGH Coordination gave details of the actions it carried out.

”On 29 April at 8 pm the Martyr Zülküf Gezen and Martyr Ayten Beçet Revenge Units have thrown sound bombs in Fatih district and Bağlar district of Amed.”

March in Van

The Martyr Zilan Roj Revenge Unit promoted a march in the district of Xachort, in Van, to support the hunger strike resistance demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader, Abdullah Öcalan.
