The Kurds and their friends gathered in the De-Wette Park area to join a march promoted by the Swiss Rojava Committee, Tevgara Ciwanen Shoresh and Teko-Jin.

The march was part of the actions organised all over the world to mark World Kobane Day.

After the opening speech made by the Rojava Committee on the Kobane resistance and the importance of the Rojava Revolution, the people started marching chanting slogans.

During the march, leaflets about the Rojava resistance and the actions organised to demand freedom for Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, were distributed by activists.

A voice message sent to the march by an activist in Rojava was played. After the march speeches were made in the Claramatte Park area.

Film screenings, panels and hanging of banners will be held in many Swiss cities, including Basel Zurich, Wintherthur, for the whole week as part of World Kobane Day and Week of Action.
