Activists in Winterthur call on everyone to join actions for Öcalan in Strasbourg

Hundreds of people marching with the slogan "Bê Serok Jiyan Nabe" in Winterthur called on people to join the actions to be held in Strasbourg between 15-19 April for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

In Winterthur, Kurds held a march in the city center within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Solution to the Kurdish Question" initiative.

During the march attended by hundreds of people, slogans such as "Bijî Serok Apo", "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan", "Bê Serok Jiyan Nabe" and "Bijî Berxwedana Zindana" were chanted.

Winterthur Democratic Kurdish Community Center co-chair Coşkun Dersim said: "We cannot talk about the freedom of the Kurdish people unless our Leader is free. Our Leader is not only the leader of the Kurdish people but of all peoples. Our Leader has been in isolation for a long time and we have not heard from him for almost three years. There has never been a torture like this in the world. We cannot get any information about his condition."

Dersim said: "Kurds in all countries of the world have only one call: We cannot be free unless our leadership is free."

Dersim added that Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is "the political leader of millions of Kurds around the world. He has been in isolation since 15 February 1999. We demand that our Leader meet with his family and lawyers as soon as possible."

A call was made to participate in the actions to be held in Strasbourg between 15-19 April, against the isolation and for the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
